COTA - Occupational Therapy
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting patients with their rehabilitation and recovery by implementing treatment plans developed by occupational therapists. This position requires a strong understanding of patient care across various settings, including acute care, outpatient clinics, and skilled nursing facilities.
Duties
Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to enhance their independence and quality of life.
Implement individualized care plans as directed by occupational therapists, ensuring adherence to treatment protocols.
Provide therapy services in diverse environments, including inpatient settings, outpatient clinics, and home health situations.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
Document patient progress accurately and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.
Support geriatric and pediatric populations through tailored therapeutic interventions.
Engage in medical imaging procedures when required to assist in patient evaluations.
Requirements
Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
Experience in skilled nursing facilities and acute care settings is preferred.
Familiarity with home health practices and outpatient therapy services is advantageous.
Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
Ability to assist with ADLs and develop effective care plans for diverse patient populations.
Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Knowledge of occupational health principles and practices related to rehabilitation therapy.
